Kara was created in 1997. The company is located in Chatelneuf in Upper Jura, the cradle of eyewear, in a 1811 property. Poupin Victor (1838-1906), humanist, politician and person of letters lived there with his wife Marguerite Gagneur (1811-1945), artist-scultor known as Syamour. It is in this unique environment that Martine and Eric Forsans find inspiration for their collections.
